LightSail Energy, Inc. is a venture capital-funded start-up in the $100 billion field of energy storage. We are gathering a small, elite technical team to help bring our system from experiment to market. We are located in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are seeking to fill several technical positions.

We’re looking for people from a diversity of backgrounds, including physics, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, applied mathematics, aerospace engineering, engine design, thermodynamics, heat transfer, computational science, fluid power, fluid dynamics, and multiphase phenomena.

We really want to talk to you if:

• You have design experience with pistons and seals in hydraulics, pneumatics, or engine design.
• You have experience working with multiphase (gas/fluid) flows, nozzles, and spray.
• You know how to design an air compressor (not just order one).
• You have worked with water hydraulics
• You have experience with power systems ranging from 100 kilowatt to multi-megawatt.
• You are able to model complex thermodynamic systems and match results with experiments.
